With 2014 winding down, we’re saying goodbye to another great year in social media. Now it’s time to start looking ahead. In this blog post, I’m going to focus on three trends that your brand should keep an eye on in 2015.
1. Instagram will be the network to watch.
In 2014 Instagram amassed over 200 million monthly users and was able to leverage the rise in video. In 2015 don’t expect the network to slow down. Video will continue to take off and brands will be looking to leverage them even more in the new year.
2. Facebook ads will continue to increase due to the steady decline in brand post reach.
With brand pages limited in organic posts reach, we will not only see an increase in the demand for ads within Facebook from more brands but we will likely see an increase in the pricing as well.
3. Mobile payments will continue to creep their way into social media.
As companies roll out their 2015 plans, many of them will be looking for ways to leverage financial transactions. We have already seen Apple introduce its pay system, as well as (most recently) Snapchat. I would expect to see Facebook make a big push in this space in 2015 and integrate payments into the platform.
In 2015 we will see brands leverage social media to more fully connect with the daily consumer lifestyle, whether it be through video, ads, or mobile payment.
